Jeff Adachi is the elected Public Defender of San Francisco, pension reform advocate, and a former candidate for Mayor of San Francisco.

When asked what book he had on his nightstand, he replied that it was Hype & Soul.

Adachi is also highly acclaimed for his documentary, You Don't Know Jack: The Jack Soo Story.

A little known fact about Jack Soo is that he joined Motown Records as one of their first non-African American artists in 1965. He was the first male to record “For Once In My Life,” but it was never released.
